NFL owners could opt out of the existing CBA with the union as soon as next Tuesday, when they hold their league meetings in Atlanta, ESPN.com reports.

While one management source says it’s a “high likelihood”, an NFL PA representative says he “expects it to happen”.

According to the article, if they were to opt out, the NFL would have an un-capped season in 2010, unrestricted free agency for players would be increased from 4 to 6 years, and the annual college draft would not exist after 2011.

The deadline to opt out is November 8.

Wow. Can anyone say “strike”?

Side note: this is my first official post. Many more to come.
