Breaking News: Indianapolis will host 2012 Superbowl

It’s official (sorta): Lucas Oil Stadium, scheduled to open for Indy’s 2008 season, will host the Superbowl 46 on February 5th, 2012. The state of Indiana has never hosted a Superbowl.

 They have announced this after their annual meetings in Atlanta today. In the NFL committee’s first order of business this morning, they have voted to opt out of the current CBA deal. Now the announcement of the location of Superbowl 46.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell just stepped up to the podium to make the announcement official.
