The Atlanta Falcons and the #3 overall pick, Boston College QB Matt Ryan, have agreed to terms today on a 6 year contract worth up to $72 million, with $34.75 guaranteed. This was per Adam Schefter of NFL Network.

Ryan is the second major rookie to sign, Dolphins #1 overall pick Jake Long being first.

Talk about a need for a rookie salary cap: Ryan’s deal is worth more than both last year’s #1 overall pick, JaMarcus Russell and even THIS year’s #1 overall pick, Jake Long.

Ryan has never taken a snap for the Falcons and has already banked atleast $34.75 million. Not a bad day for him.
