In an NFL.com report, Vince Young revealed that he heavily considered retirement last year.

Young said he felt lost in training camp last season and was hurting. At the age of 24, Young considered hanging them up. From the article:

“I really thought long and hard about it,” Young said on Thursday after practice. “There was so much going on with my family. It was crazy being an NFL quarterback. It wasn’t fun anymore. All of the fun was out of it. All of the excitement was gone. All I was doing was worrying about things.

His fellow teammates wouldn’t have any of it though. Veteran linebacker Keith Bulluck, probably the most influential player in the Titans locker room, helped Young overcome his fears and focus on becoming a better player.

The Titans organization chalked it up to immaturity and growing pains as a young player trying to learn the most intricate position in all of sports.
