On this Friday, in the dog days of the offseason, any NFL news is noteworthy. So when Adam Schefter appeared on NFL Total Access today, he passed along some juicy updates. Here’s the cliffnotes:
- Jason Taylor, football player turned dancer, who has no plans to attend any Dolphins activities, will be fined $8,638 for each day of mandatory minicamp that he misses. In training camp, that number raises to $15,116 a day.
- According to Schefter, some people inside the Bengals organization believe that star WR holdout, Chad Johnson, will report to upcoming mandatory minicamps. Though, Schefter spoke to Johnson’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and he was informed that no decisions have been made by Chad or anyone in his camp.
- Finally, Schefter reports that the long awaited decision of reinstating Pacman Jones could be made as early as next week. As previously reported, NFL commish Roger Goodell and Jones were scheduled to meet in the coming months but may have met earlier, and secretly.
That’s all for tonight, folks.
