Chad Johnson ends holdout

12:56 pm Breaking News, Cincinnati Bengals, Headliners

”Am I coming back? Of course I am,”

That’s what outspoken Bengals WR Chad Johnson, intent on holding out, told ESPN The Magazine. Johnson has withdrawn his trade demands and could report to the Bengals camp as early as June 12th.

This comes 6 weeks after Johnson proclaimed, “I don’t intend on reporting to anything.”

What could have changed his mind? Could this be posturing by his notorious agent Drew Rosenhaus? Could this be a trick up the sleeve of Johnson, known for his surprises?

Apparently, Johnson was holding out hope that he could be traded pre-draft to a team like the Cowboys, but when that never happened, he began to take a different approach.

Johnson’s scheduled to make $3 million in 2008. His contract ends in 2011.
