Just one month removed after being arrested for boating while intoxicated, Bears RB Cedric Benson didn’t learn his lesson. On Saturday, Benson was arrested again, this time for drunken driving. Benson was stopped for a traffic violation, but after he refused a breathalyzer and a blood test, he was arrested. He was released on bond.
This could be it for Benson’s tenure in Chicago. He hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire, and hasn’t justified where he was picked (4th overall in 2005). Bears coach Lovie Smith has a decision to make. Eat the cap hit and get rid of the malcontent or ride it out and hope Benson turns it around.
It looks as if they may have parted ways with Thomas Jones a little too soon.
