UPDATE: THE CLEVELAND BROWNS HAVE RELEASED LECHARLES BENTLEY.

___________

After signing a 6 year, $36 million deal in the 2006 free agency period, LeCharles Bentley thought he was going to anchor the Browns offensive line, like he did with New Orleans. Those expectations were cut short, however, when he suffered an injury right before training camp, missing all of 2006 and 2007 because of it.

But on Monday night, Bentley passed a physical and rejoined his team, for the first time in 2 years, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

Good news for LeCharles. He’s versatile (can play center or guard), athletic, and their line can only get better, especially with 2nd year standout Joe Thomas anchoring the unit, that is if Bentley rejoins the Browns and doesn’t go somewhere else.

Does Bentley think he’s going to play in 2008? We’ll let him answer that:

“Oh, no doubt in my mind.”
