Newsday is reporting that the NFL Network has made a massive upgrade in their announcers booth. After canning the ever boring Bryant Gumble earlier this year, they have decided to replace him with Bob Papa, the Giants play-by-play radio announcer, who also calls some boxing matches for HBO. Surprisingly, Papa beat out presumed leading candidate Tom Hammond for the job.

Papa will join Chris Collinsworth, who’s been with the network’s broadcast for the last 2 years.
