ESPN.com reports that Detroit Lions top draft pick, OT Gosder Cherilus has settled assault charges from a 2007 brawl in a bar that left a person seriously injured. Cherilus will serve one year on probation and pay $52,000 in medical expenses.
Cherilus and former Boston College teammate DeJuan Tribble were both charged with assault and battery/assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Both charges will be dismissed if they complete the probationary period and pay the court ordered medical expenses in full.
