The Bergen Record, thru a source, have released some interesting tidbits today. According to the article:

  • TE Jeremy Shockey, whose been the subject of several trade rumors this off-season, is reportedly off the market. The Giants have given up on finding a trade partner for the disgruntled Shockey and he will remain with the team. Apparently, Shockey’s ankle isn’t fully 100% and that’s showed up in his physical, which negated any possible deal.
  • RB Brandon Jacobs and the Giants are working on a 4 year extension that could be completed “any day now”. Once again, this is from a source that the Record deems reputable. Already this off-season, the Giants have extended coach Tom Coughlin and his son in-law Chris Snee, who recieved a 6 year deal worth close to $42 million.

That concludes the Giants news portion of the day.
