Earnest Graham finally got his wish.
After holding out of involuntary mini camps and other team functions, the Buccaneers RB finally got the deal he’s been seeking in the tune of 3 years, $10.5 million.
After bringing back Warrick Dunn this off-season, the intentions weren’t that Graham would be the franchise back, but instead employee the committee approach. After a couple of seasons riding the bench, Graham finally saw action when starter Cadillac Williams was injured. Capitalizing, he started 10 games, rushed for 898 yards and had 10 touchdowns.
Because the market for players is always changing, this should set the tone for the Green Bay’s Ryan Grant, who is also angling for a new deal. Since the deal that Graham received is considered below market average (Raiders RB Justin Fargas received a 3 year, $12 million extension this off-season), expect Grant to receive more than Graham.
