Jaguars first round bust, WR Matt Jones, was reportedly arrested on cocaine charges in Arkansas, after police found him in his 4Runner, using a credit card to cut up a white substance, likely cocaine. Police say they spotted him and two other men sitting in an unlit parking lot located in a known drug area.
According to the report, Jones didn’t comply right away when police asked him to “put his hands where they could see them”, and the officers had their guns drawn before Jones followed orders, admitted he had cocaine, and was then cuffed and booked. Jones is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
This won’t help Jones at all. Already deemed a first round failure, Jones is now almost guaranteed to be released by the Jaguars, with possible jail time and a suspension to follow. This is now the second Jaguars player to be arrested this off season.
