Following the news that Redskins DE Phillip Daniels will miss the entire 2008 season after injuring his knee, the Redskins could turn to Dolphins All-Pro Jason Taylor to fill the void.
ESPN’s John Clayton reports that trade talks are underway that would bring Taylor to Washington. Washington’s depth on their defensive line is shallow, and with the earlier stories that Taylor wants out of Miami and to a contender, this trade makes sense for both parties.
The Redskins would be wise to make this trade sooner rather than later. Training camps are opening soon and Taylor would need all the practice as possible, considering he’d be going from the 3-4 to the 4-3 defense, a drastic change. Because Washington wasn’t very “Washington-like” during free agency, they’d have plenty of room to fit in Taylor’s $8.1 million price tag.
