The Rams and second overall pick of this year’s draft, DE Chris Long, have come to terms on a six-year deal. The numbers of the deal weren’t announced at this time, though Rams coach Scott Linehan hinted it’ll cover 5 years at the minimum.

Long, who played his college ball at UVA, who is also the son of Hall of Fame defensive end Howie Long, recorded 22 sacks at Virginia and was looked at as the best overall prospect in the draft, as well as the safest choice. Long figures to add a pass-rushing dynamic to the Rams defensive line, which includes last year’s first-round pick Adam Carriker at defensive tackle.
