Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin, already battling a contract dispute, has taken it one step further, claiming the team lied to him about a new contract that was promised to him. Obviously PO’ed, Boldin claims he has no desire to re-up with the Cards and has directed his agent to break off contract negotiations with the team.
Uh oh. Boldin might be playing elsewhere soon, which would satisfy his demands, but wouldn’t be a good result for Arizona, whose other star receiver Larry Fitzgerald, has had similar threats of holding out for a new deal. There were trade rumors surrounding Fitz and Boldin earlier this year, but nothing ever came of it. Expect those rumors to surface again, this time with possible action.
