After refusing to sign an injury clause throughout the off-season, the Cowboys have decided they’ve had enough and will release WR Terry Glenn. Glenn missed all, save for one game, of last season and didn’t want to sign the injury waiver which would pay him $500,000 of his $1.74 million base salary. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said this decision was made in order to give the younger receivers a chance to step up and compete with Patrick Crayton to start opposite Terrell Owens.
Although Glenn is 34 and recovering slowly from an injury, Jones didn’t rule out bringing back Glenn, should he clear waivers and if no one shines in camp.
