On today’s airing of NFL Live on ESPN, Chris Mortensen reported that Brett Favre has faxed his reinstatement letter to the league. Mort also said he isn’t talking trade with either the Jets or Bucs. Apparently, he’s focusing on the Packers organization and/or getting his release, which he won’t. Packers GM Ted Thompson has asked Favre to “give him more time” to get something done, specifically 24-48 hours. UPDATE: Here’s a link to the story, apparently they’d have to decide to trade him, release him, or keep him as an active member of the Packers. Things should get interesting in the next 72 hours.
Michael Smith, also on NFL Live, mentioned that coaches around the league are focusing on their own QB situations and until Favre makes the first move, other ballclubs will just move on.
