in Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans today have released WR Mike Williams, who will now be searching for his third team in three seasons. Williams was the 10th overall pick in 2005 by the Lions, and coming out USC, many thought he’d be the next big thing at the receiver position. That wasn’t the case, however, as he battled weight problems and failed to live up to the hype surrounding him which led to his departure from Detroit.

Late last season, the Titans picked up Williams, who weighed a staggering 270 pounds at the time. Trying to resurrect his career, he dropped more than 30 pounds this offseason, but it just wasn’t enough. He will probably get picked up by a team at some point, but his weight issues and passion for the game will always be called into question.
