Brady out for the rest of the season?

In a blow that could potentially kill any chances of a Super Bowl run, Pats QB Tom Brady, who’s never missed a game due to injury in his career, suffered a torn ACL in the first quarter of the Pats/Bills game earlier today. According to two sources close to the situation, Brady would miss the rest of the season.

“It’s bad,” a team source said. “We’re going to have to play without him.”

Brady is still scheduled to undergo further testing, but the injury looked bad as soon as it happened, with Brady grabbing his knee and screaming on the field. The backup, Matt Cassel, who looked atrocious in the preseason, still managed to defeat Kansas City 17-10, but that’s not saying much considering KC is in rebuilding mode and among the bottom of the barrel in the NFL.

Still, this isn’t official, and Belichick is as tightlipped as the Pentagon, so we’ll all probably know more in the next 24 hours.
