Sanchez to have surgery on bothersome left knee

After gathering a second and even third opinion by doctors, Jets QB Mark Sanchez will have elective surgery on his left knee. The procedure will strengthen the patella that Sanchez originally injured at USC in 2008.

Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum fully expects the young franchise QB to be ready for training camp, saying he’ll be ready to go “well before training camp”.

One might argue that by Sanchez waiting to have the surgery it will hurt his development as he enters his second year but with his work ethic and determination it shouldn’t be an issue. Breathe easy, Jets fans.
