Day 1 of 2010 free-agency is officially in the books… and we saw a wild one. Lots of activity, with major movement pretty much all-day long. This was the last of the big one’s.
It took a little while, and it was rumored to happen hours before it did, but the New York Giants have agreed to terms with free safety Antrel Rolle on a “5 year deal for $37 million, including $15 million gtd.” This made Rolle the highest paid safety in NFL history. Wow.
The Giants got their safety to pair with Kenny Phillips which will form an impressive twosome at the position (given Phillips is healthy).
Props to fanhouse and Giants beat writer Ralph Vacchiano who both called this early on.
