To any team looking for a veteran defensive end, Chicago’s got what you need.
Per the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are looking to deal Alex Brown, who they view as expendable following the major acquisition of Julius Peppers.
Brown, who has started 102 games all with Chicago, carries a $5 million base salary into the season which might make some teams think twice – and wait for him to be released, if/when that happens. At 31 years old (going into the season), Brown is still very productive but it’ll be telling to see what kind of value he draws on the trade market.
The team “feels comfortable” with Mark Anderson as Brown’s replacement and looks to move on with him.
