in New York Jets, NFL Draft, Seattle Seahawks

In the third trade of the day, the Seattle Seahawks have acquired running back Leon Washington from the Jets for their fifth-round draft choice (no. 140) and the Jets seventh-round pick, the NFL Network is reporting.

The Jets used the pick to take running back John Conner.

Looks like the Seahawks have completely transformed their backfield — trading for both LenDale White and now Washington in the same day. That should be a good tandem to go along with Justin Forsett.

New York’s pick, The Terminator John Conner is more of a fullback in a running back’s body. He bowls over DE’s and is probably being groomed to replace FB Tony Richardson, who most likely won’t be apart of the Jets next season. That’s it for them in the 2010 draft….unless they trade someone else.

One last thought: I thought the writing was on the wall for Leon the second the Jets traded up in the fourth-round earlier to select USC RB Joe McKnight, a Washington clone.
