Just when you want to give the kid another chance…
After going undrafted, the San Francisco 49ers stepped up to offer some confidence a gave him a contract, keeping him on the west coast. Blount verbally agreed, but neglected to sign the contract, and continued to entertain offers.
When the Titans came knocking today, Blount called things off with San Francisco and has now agreed to sign with Tennessee. I gotta say, that’s not the kind of character I expect Jeff Fisher to pursue. Not a classy move at all by Blount.
Line of the weekend by the NFL Network’s Rich Eisen: “Dare we say that LeGarrette sucker punched the 49ers? I guess I just dared.”
Blount, former RB for Oregon, is remembered for his sucker punch on Boise State’s Byron Hunt after the season opening game last Fall. Blount was suspended for the season.
