Lap-band surgery is a fairly common method for treating obesity by helping speed up weight loss. It worked for Jets coach Rex Ryan this off-season, now Max Jean-Gilles hopes it’ll work for him, too.

The Eagles offensive guard recently had this procedure, also known as adjustable gastric band surgery, done after rumors swirled that he weighed close to a staggering 400 pounds.

Coach Andy Reid held Jean-Gilles out of the first day of minicamp while he recovers.
