Brian Cushing might’ve saved his Defensive Rookie of the Year status.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Texans juicer linebacker underwent a lie-detector test to prove he didn’t take a performance-enhancing drug. He passed, by the way.
Although his four-game suspension is still upheld, this could go a long way to helping Cushing’s credibility, not to mention his chances of keeping the coveted DROY trophy. As reported earlier, the AP was considering stripping Cushing of it and re-voting.
Ultimately, even though it appears he’s telling the truth, Houston will be without its starting linebacker until week 5.
