Brett Favre

If it weren’t the 30th Anniversary of Pac-Man, I’m sure Brett Favre’s ankle would be trending on Twitter today.  So yes, it’s true. Brett Favre had surgery on that left ankle damaged by the Saints in January. All the NFL pundits feel this proves Favre is returning for the 2010 season. In all fairness, Favre himself did say that he would absolutely need the surgery if was going to play another year.

“I can barely move the ankle up and down. Walking on it feels like I have glass in my shoes and running is way harder than it needs to be.” – Brett Favre

You know what this surgery proves? That Favre didn’t want to feel like he’s walking with glass in his shoes. If I felt like I had glass in my shoe when I was walking, I would have the surgery too. Favre was going to have this surgery whether he decided to play or not (as if.)  So the fact of the matter is that Favre has always known he’s going to play another season. His body might be waving a white flag, but the blinders are up and Captain America is moving forward for another season.

The NFL world needs to stop whispering at the water cooler about the ‘will he or won’t he’ and start asking how anyone is going to stop the Vikings. That’s a nasty good team.
