LenDale White

Many thought that when former Titans running back LenDale White was acquired by Seattle on draft day that he’d compete to be the team’s starting running back.

Well, now it looks as if White might not even make it until training camp.

Danny O’Neil, of the Seattle Times, wrote on his Twitter that “indications” point to him being sent packing by the Seahawks.

To add fuel to the fire, apparently a press release of White’s released was posted on the team’s official website, but shortly after was taken down.

Should this become reality, Seattle would be left with Julius Jones, Justin Forsett, and a very questionable Leon Washington, who is recovering from a horrific leg injury and might not be ready to start the season.

This is not the last we’ll hear of this, so check back for updates.

UPDATE: Reportedly, White is currently talking with team management, and the ‘Hawks have offered no comment on the matter.

UPDATE #2: Jason La Canfora says the team will be releasing him, as he wasn’t a good fit.

UPDATE #3: According to O’Neil, White has been officially waived.

This is what Seahawks GM John Schneider had to say:

“It just did not appear to be the right fit at this point in our program. We wish LenDale all the best with his future.”
