The Denver Broncos tonight made sure their right guard spot is locked up for the long-term.

The team and Chris Kuper have agreed on a new six-year contract extension worth $29 million, including $13 million in guarantees. Here’s what Kuper had to say in a statement:

“The fact that the Broncos are putting this much trust in me is an incredible feeling.” “It is a dream come true…. This is where I wanted to be because I feel like this team is headed in the right direction, and my family is excited that we can stay here and be a part of it.”

The 27-year old Kuper has started 42 career games, while giving up just five sacks. Standing at 6’4″ and weighing just over 300 pounds, Kuper is tailor-made for the power blocking scheme employed by coach Josh McDaniels.
