Isaac Bruce

As a member of the Greatest Show on Turf with the Rams, wide receiver Isaac Bruce teamed with Torry Holt to make one of, if not the best duo of WR’s in the game. Then, toward the end of his career, Bruce was traded to the divison-rival 49ers. Now he’s a Ram again and will go out as such.

The 49ers traded Bruce to the Rams where he’ll retire as a member of the team on Wednesday. A press conference is scheduled for 12:30pm to formally announce his retirement.

According to a report, the Niners didn’t want to outright release him because they were afraid he’d sign with the Bears, where he knows offensive coordinator Mike Martz very, very well.

Bruce finishes his career with 1,024 catches for an incredible 15,208 yards and 91 touchdowns. He’s made the Pro Bowl on four separate occasions and was an All-Pro in 1999, the same year he won the Superbowl with St. Louis. He could be/should be Canton-bound.
