In a smart move for Al Davis’ Raiders, the team has agreed to a one-year deal with defensive tackle John Henderson today, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting.
Henderson, who spent his first eight seasons in Jacksonville, was cut by the Jaguars in late April. At only 31-years old, which is relatively young for defensive lineman, he could make a considerable difference on an otherwise lacking unit.
A run stuffer, Henderson should be able to handle either a 4-3 or 3-4 defense, depending on what Tom Cable decides to employ.
