Good news for Tom Brady and the Patriots offense: it’s looking like wide receiver Wes Welker will be a full go for camp and beyond.
According to the Boston Herald (via 98.5 The SportsHub), Welker is expected to be cleared to fully participate in training camp, which kicks off next Thursday for New England. He’ll take a physical next week.
Although Welker went through certain drills at the team’s minicamps, this still comes as a surprise considering he tore the ligaments (ACL, MCL) a little over six months ago. He has been way ahead of schedule the entire offseason.
If he practices in team drills during camp, he wouldn’t be eligible to be placed on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list, as some have speculated the Patriots doing.
