Mr. Bradford is now a very rich man, indeed.
Per ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the Rams have signed quarterback Sam Bradford, the number one overall pick, to a six-year contract worth a staggering $78 million. The deal includes a whopping $50 million in guarantees and another $8 million available in incentives.
With that, the former Oklahoma Sooner became the first player in NFL history to receive that much guaranteed money. In comparison, last year’s number one overall pick, QB Matthew Stafford, received $41.7 million guaranteed.
The Rams wanted Bradford, who will compete with A.J. Feeley for the starting job, in camp by the time it opened up on Saturday.
Let the new era begin in St. Louis.
