The draft holdouts have officially come to an end.
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the Seahawks and left tackle Russell Okung have come to terms on a six-year contract with a max value of $58 million, including $30 million guaranteed. Okung signing makes him the last first-round pick to do so; he can now report to training camp after missing the first week.
Drafted sixth overall out of Oklahoma State, Okung is expected to step into the starting lineup immediately as Seattle’s left tackle of the future. Although he was/is highly touted, Okung has some big shoes to fill as Walter Jones’ replacement after the All-Pro tackle retired this offseason.
Some of Okung’s college accomplishments include: First-Team All-American (2008 and 2009), Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year (2009), and First-Team All Big 12 (2008 and 2009).
