T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Both the Bengals and Vikings might have turned him down, but it appears free-agent receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh will soon sign with a new team; one of the two teams he’s narrowed it down to.

Per Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times, the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins are the finalists for his services. Obviously, since O’Neil covers the Seahawks, he’d have some well-planted and reliable sources. Both teams are also the most logical choices and offer T.J. the most playing time.

With the Redskins, he’d likely start opposite Santana Moss, and would be a nice possession receiver for Donovan McNabb. Oakland has a couple of interesting WR prospects in Louis Murphy and Chaz Schilens. Then, of course, there’s Darrius Heyward-Bey. With Jason Campbell taking over, that offense should be better but far from Colts-like.

Washington offers him not only the best chance to win, but the opportunity to put up some nice stats while he’s at it.
