Rex Ryan’s visit to South Florida must have worked.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets and Revis have agreed to terms on a new contract. The terms aren’t out yet, but it’s supposedly the richest deal for a defensive player in Jets history.
NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports its a seven year deal that “easily” voids to four.
Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News confirms it (seven-year deal) can be voided to a $4 year, $46 million deal.
Revis, meanwhile, tweeted this and this:
it not has only been hard on u guys but it has for me too. I just want to tell yall that I’m sorry for this process
To my family, neil, & john I love u guys I’m comin home baby!!! Revis Island LET’S GO
The news is still coming out, so stay tuned for more.
UPDATE: According to Mehta, Revis will receive $32 million in guarantees. It’s officially a four-year, $46 million deal. He’ll fly to New York tomorrow, sign the deal, and get back on the practice field. He’ll be facing Anquan Boldin one week from today on Monday Night Football.
