Add another name to the list of injured Denver Broncos. This time it’s their starting running back who’s dinged up.
According to the Denver Post, Knowshon Moreno suffered an injury in practice this week and has been ruled out for Sunday’s home game against the Indianapolis Colts. This comes as a shock because Moreno wasn’t known to be hurt until now.
Secretive coach Josh McDaniels wouldn’t go into specifics, although ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has confirmed Moreno was injured in this morning’s practice.
Recently acquired Laurence Maroney and Andre Brown are expected to split reps on Sunday against a less than stellar Colts run defense.
UPDATE: FOXSports’ Jay Glazer reports the injury is a pulled hamstring, but luckily not the same one he partially tore during training camp.
UPDATE #2: Mortensen thinks this will cost Moreno “probably” two weeks, though he’s not certain. In any case, this is definitely a situation to monitor next week.
