Today must be the day for winless teams to make changes.
Per NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora, the Buffalo Bills have released QB Trent Edwards. Edwards recently was benched in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick, who led the Bills on multiple scoring drives against the Patriots in yesterday’s game.
After his demotion, the team tried trading Edwards by placing him on the trade block. No one came calling – which is no surprise – so Buffalo decided to literally cut their losses.
Edwards should find work with another team as a third-string option, but the Bills desperately need to heavily invest in a quarterback during the offseason.
