Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis isn’t afraid to make a deal. In fact, he’s willing to trade literally any player on his roster, even his superstar cornerback.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders have informed other teams that any and every player on their current roster are available for a trade, including All-World CB Nnamdi Asomugha. The NFL’s trade deadline is Tuesday.
Oakland has pulled this move before; in fact, it was only last year when Davis proclaimed the same thing but to no avail. Obviously, most teams will target Asomugha, who’s far and away their best player. The one speedbump in getting a deal done would be Aso’s ridiculously high contract that Davis rewarded him with. No other club would want to pay him $16 million after giving up what would be high draft-pick compensation.
Schefter suggests that, in addition to Asomugha, running back Michael Bush might be a hot commodity, as would cornerback Chris Johnson and linebacker Thomas Howard.
