Shortly before their game against the Green Bay Packers this afternoon, the Miami Dolphins extended their slot receiver.
According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, Devone Bess agreed to a two-year extension with Miami. While the financial details aren’t known as of now, Glazer says it’s a “big deal for a slot receiver.”
Bess was still playing on the undrafted contract he received following the 2008 draft, so one can assume this was a nice bump in pay for him.
With Brandon Marshall commanding the double teams, life has been easier for Bess to find the soft spots in defenses and make clutch third-down receptions. The University of Hawaii alum has 26 catches for 282 yards and two scores this season.
