Jared Odrick

Miami Dolphins first-round draft pick, defensive end Jared Odrick, suffered an injury in Week 1. It cost him his rookie season.

NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora is reporting that Odrick is more than likely headed to the injured reserve list due to a hairline fracture in his right fibula. His season would be over.

The Dolphins were holding out hope that he’d return at some point this season, but it was never going to happen with that type of injury. Odrick is not immune to these types of breaks; he went down with a similar one in college.

Despite the news, the Fins still have a capable defensive line but it’s a shame that a high-round, expensive investment has to wait until 2011 to get his NFL career underway.
