DeSean Jackson
The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to get their homerun threat back in Week 9, while the reigning World Champion Saints will likely be without their top running back for another week.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, wide receiver DeSean Jackson expects to suit up for the Eagles’ Week 9 showdown with the Indianapolis Colts. Philadelphia is currently on its bye week.
Jackson, recovering from that vicious hit he took in Week 7, is still waiting to gain medical clearance to return to the field. Though he still has no recollection of the collision, Jackson is confident he’ll be starting at receiver for either Kevin Kolb or Michael Vick.
“I look forward to be playing.”
The Saints aren’t so optimistic regarding running back Reggie Bush. With their big Sunday Night showdown with the Steelers on the horizon, the chances of Bush playing look “very bleak”, says NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora. Bush was unable to practice today and his return is classified as “very doubtful.”
Bush is nursing the broken leg he suffered in the early weeks of the season and is first running at full speed. Chris Ivory is expected to start at running back with Pierre Thomas also likely to be declared out. Either way, there won’t be much running room against an elite Steelers defense.
