Randy Moss

Now that the divorce is final between Randy Moss and the Vikings (again), the remaining 31 clubs around the league can put a claim in to nab him. The question becomes, which team(s) will want to take on the All-Pro’s baggage and multi-million dollar salary?

What we do know now is that there’s at least one that’s heavily considering pulling the trigger.

According to the Miami Herald, the Miami Dolphins are giving “serious consideration” to the idea of acquiring Moss.

It’s not a bad idea; as the Herald’s source says, any team that chooses not to would be “foolish”.

They especially like his size (6’4″) and his big play potential. While anyone would be enamored with those traits, isn’t that why Miami went out and paid Brandon Marshall $50 million? How would Moss feel about being second string to Marshall? If he hated playing for Brad Childress, how will he feel about Tony Sporano?

This is the definition of a high risk, high reward gamble.

The deadline to put a claim in on Moss is 4:00 p.m. today (Wednesday). Miami is currently 18th in the waiver order, so they would need quite a few teams to pass on him first. We should know more by that time and will update this situation accordingly.
