It looks like Jenn Sterger’s financial demands she made a few weeks ago didn’t put an end to the case against Brett Favre, so she has taken it a step further.

According to the New York Post, Sterger, the former Jets sideline reporter, met with league investigators today to discuss the reported racy text messages and voicemails that Favre sent her while he played for the Jets in 2008.

“We can confirm that a meeting took place with the NFL today and we cooperated fully by providing them with substantial materials in our possession,” Reese told The Post after the sitdown. We now await the NFL’s decision.”

Though she was undecided at first about sitting down with the NFL, the meeting was necessary if she wants Favre to be disciplined by the league. Possible reprimands could include fines and/or suspensions for the Hall of Fame quarterback as any action would violate the league’s personal conduct policy.

In case you missed it, here’s a sample of what Favre said to Sterger in an effort to woo the Playboy model:

“Just done with practice, got meetings here for a couple of more hours, then I’m going back to the hotel to just chill,” Favre drawled. “So send me a text. So I’ll be in the building for a couple of hours . . . Send me a text, I’d love to see you tonight.”
Sterger waited all this time to finally come forward, so one has to question what course of action commissioner Roger Goodell will take against Favre. If he suspends him, and ends his consecutive starts streak, there’d be more backlash toward the league than if no punishment was handed out. As always, there will be more to this saga.
