And the hits keep on coming for the Dolphins.
On top of the fact that both of their starting quarterbacks are presumably out for the season, word got out from the Miami Herald that Pro Bowl left tackle Jake Long dislocated a shoulder in today’s win over the Titans. He’s scheduled to have an MRI done sometime soon.
This would be a tough injury to play through and Miami will be on short rest this week as they will play on Thursday night against the Bears.
If Long couldn’t go, Vernon Carey would slide over into his spot, but that’d be a definite downgrade as he doesn’t have the run or pass-blocking prowess that Long possesses.
If the ‘Fins want to have a shot at the playoffs, they would need to just about run the table. It’s going to be awfully hard to do that with Tyler Thigpen as the starting quarterback, with Carey protecting his blindside.
