As the holiday games are about to get underway, three of the teams involved get a boost in the running back department.

Starting in the early matchup, the New England Patriots have activated Fred Taylor for the first time since Week 3 as they are set to take on the Detroit Lions. Taylor has been dealing with a turf toe on both of his feet, though New England hasn’t missed a beat with BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead as their feature backs. Expect ‘Fragile Freddy’ to get some touches, but The Law Firm (Green-Ellis) will still be in for the majority of the game.

In the late afternoon game between the Cowboys and Saints, both teams will have their starters on the field as Dallas’ Felix Jones is expected to play and the Saints’ Reggie Bush is expected to be activated for the NFC tilt. Jones, who injured his hip in last Sunday’s win over the Lions, was handled extra conservatively by the team in the early part of the week so he’d be a go for the game.

Bush, making his first appearance since Week 2, is more or less at 100% in his recovery from his leg injury. Although he’s no guarantee to stay at full health, Bush will re-insert himself into the backfield of the high octane Saints, as his reps will cut into Chris Ivory’s.

With that, Happy Thanksgiving everybody! From everyone here at Helmet2Helmet, we wish you and yours a great day full of family, friends, food, and football.
