Although the Philadelphia Eagles held on to beat the Dallas Cowboys — 30-27 — last night, they will now be without two key contributors on defense for at least the remainder of the regular season.
Per NFL.com, defensive end Brandon Graham tore his ACL in the fourth quarter of the game and will miss the rest of the season; surgery has been scheduled to repair the knee ligament.
Graham was the team’s first-round pick (13th overall) in this year’s draft and had an excellent start to the season before losing his starting job and fading down the stretch. He ends his rookie year with 13 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Philadelphia’s starting middle linebacker Stewart Bradley will also be sidelined indefinitely as he suffered a dislocated right elbow in the same game. He’ll likely miss the Eagles’ remaining three games but could return for the playoffs. The injury won’t require surgery.
Bradley was hurt during the second quarter when he landed hard on his arm. Injuries are nothing new to the fourth-year player out of Nebraska; he missed the entire 2009 season with a torn ACL and was concussed in Week One of this season.
Rookie Jamar Chaney in all likelihood will replace Bradley in the lineup.
