In the last five weeks, millions of fans voted in SportsNation’s Madden 2012 cover tournament, which originally started with 32 nominees. After several elimination rounds, we now have our winner.
In the final round, over a million votes were cast, and Peyton Hillis has been selected as the cover athlete for EA Sports’ Madden 2012.
The winner was announced live on ESPN2, as both Vick and Hillis were both in attendance to accept the honor.
Surprisingly, Hillis cruised to victory as he accumulated 66% of the votes, compared to Vick’s 34%. Many thought Vick, the league’s Comeback Player of the Year, would take home the honor.
Instead, Cleveland’s young and talented running back became the first Browns player to grace the cover of the popular video game.
Madden 2012 will hit stores this August.
