What would a week be without a pro football player in trouble with Johnny Law?

Per Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Tribune, former Bears running back Garrett Wolfe was arrested Sunday in Miami, Florida.

Wolfe was charged with retail theft, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest with violence and disorderly conduct. He is being held on $11,500 bond.

This incident occurs less than one day after Wolfe made the trek to South Florida, where he’s frequented during the locked-out offseason.

“MIAMI I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!,” Wolfe tweeted Saturday.

A four-year veteran, Wolfe didn’t receive a tender offer from the Bears, meaning he’ll be an unrestricted free agent when the NFL re-opens for business. Wolfe, the team’s third-round pick in 2007, has totaled 282 rushing yards and one touchdown in his career.

Because these charges appear to be significant, there’s virtually no chance he re-ups with the Bears, and he may have trouble securing a backup or special teams role with another club.
